
Samuel L. Jackson is reportedly joining Paramount+’s forthcoming series from Taylor Sheridan, NOLA King.
NOLA King is a spinoff of Sheridan’s popular series, Tulsa King. Jackson will reportedly play the role of Russell Lee Washington Jr. According to a report from Nellie Andreeva of Deadline, Jackson’s character “comes from the crime world” and will “go against” Ray Stallone’s character, Dwight “The General” Manfredi, before attempting “to take over New Orleans.”
Jackson joins the series as filming for season three of Tulsa King kicks off in Georgia and Oklahoma. The Morehouse College graduate is expected to participate and appear in a few episodes. Then, in February of 2026, production of Jackson’s NOLA King is projected to begin.
Jackson returns to the small screen yet again after starring as Frank Moten in Peacock’s limited series, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist. He’s also taken the lead role in Apple TV+’s miniseries, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey. Aside from his television work, he’s slated to appear in Afterburn with Dave Bautista, The Beast with Joel Kinnaman and and an untittled film from J.J. Abrams with Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega.
