
Ryan Coogler is working on the second installment of Marvel’s Black Panther cinematic series, but he may be looking to continue his work in the realm of superheroes and villains. According to a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Coogler and his production banner, Proximity Media, have boarded Marvel’s upcoming Ironheart series. Alongside Coogler and Proximity Media, Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes have signed on as the show’s primary directors. Rounding out the A-list team, Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos and Lyric Ross will lead the cast while Chinaka Hodge works as the head writer.
Coogler is known to most as the director of Black Panther, Creed and Fruitvale Station. In recent years, he’s transitioned into the role of a producer. Thus far, he and his team at Proximity Media have produced Judas and the Black Messiah, Space Jam: A New Legacy and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Not to mention, Proximity Media has also locked in an overall deal with Disney.
According to IMDb, production of Ironheart is set to kick off this year, but it is unclear when it will arrive on Disney+.
