October’s Very Own is often overlooked as a collective. Despite the massive commercial success that Drake enjoys, many do not know about the massive amounts of talent that the collective holds. Currently, the Drake led label is home to R&B acts such as PARTYNEXTDOOR, Majid Jordan, DVSN, Preme and many more. Unfortunately, a variety of forces continue to hold the collective back from being all that it can be. Hopefully, that will all change this year. PARTYNEXTDOOR will likely drop a new album and if all things hold true, Roy Woods will as well.
To kick off O.V.O’s 2019 campaign, Roy Woods has dropped a brand new single called “Worth It”. On the new track, the Canadian artist reflects on all of the success he has enjoyed over the last few years. He sings, “Look at my momma/She is a queen/Look at my family/We is a team/Yeah I’m the man/Yeah I’m the king.”
The record will likely serve as a lead up to his next album. Last week, Roy Woods tweeted, “This next album’s worth the wait. I promise.” If that’s the case, we can expect some great music from Roy Woods in the near future. In the meantime, check out his latest track, “Worth It”.
