Yesterday, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” director Gareth Edwards debuted the brand new theatrical poster for the movie coming out in December. After last year’s success of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, the second installment in what is the final chapter of the Star Wars saga looks to take a step back and fill in some gaps.
Lucas Films is currently in the second phase of returning the Star Wars franchise back to its glory. Starting last year, the company was going to not only add on to the timeline of the first six films but also fill in some holes where a story or important detail might be missing. That’s where ‘Rogue One’ comes in.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” fills in the time between episodes three and four. The main plot of this film is the rebel alliance retrieving the plans for the Death Star, (spoiler alert) leading to its destruction later on in the timeline.
Check out the second official trailer below in which we get more glimpses of the cast which includes Felicity Jones as the main character Jyn Erso, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen and more detail on Forest Whitaker’s character in the film. Of course, the main villain everyone has been waiting for, Darth Vader makes an appearance in the trailer.
‘Rogue One’ hits theaters December 16 in 3D, RealD 3D and IMAX 3D.
