Roger Goodell is arguably the most powerful man in the sports arena. Since becoming commissioner in 2006, Goodell has made over $212.5 million which averages out to around $21 million per year. By 2020, Darren Rovell estimates the commissioner will have made upwards of $350 million.
Best guess on Roger Goodell’s total compensation in first 15 years as commissioner (thru 2020) is $350 million.

Goodell’s current deal ends in 2019 so the NFL and his company have been negotiating for some time now on an extension.
Yesterday, according to ESPN, a conference call was held between “the compensation committee” which consists of six owners: Arthur Blank (Atlanta Falcons), Bob McNair (Houston Texans), Clark Hunt (Kansas City Chiefs), John Mara (New York Giants), Robert Kraft (New England Patriots), and Art Rooney II (Pittsburgh Steelers). Jerry Jones, the committee’s unofficial seventh member, was also on the call.
This deal seems very close to being completed despite Jerry Jones attempts to derail it.
Dallas owner Jerry Jones has slowed down, if not impeded, contract negotiations aimed at extension for Roger Goodell, per @mortreport and me

Interesting – what would Jerry Jones be like as the commissioner?
It may be a while before the contract is finalized, but as of now, it is headed in the right direction. Stay tuned for updates.
