Former Georgia State guard R.J. Hunter was invited to attend the NBA Draft, but will instead enjoy the night with family and friends in Atlanta. After his pre-draft workout with the Washington Wizards, Hunter explained how even with the stress of the draft, he is looking forward to being drafted and being able to enjoy the moment.
Following From Washington Post.
“I call my agent everyday about it. He doesn’t even know,” Hunter said. “Anything can happen on draft night. The thing is my [selection] range is so unique. It’s like 15-28. It’s kind of hard. People start trading picks. Some people get picked that wouldn’t have got picked before. I’m just going to have fun with it. Just enjoy it.”
We all know anything could happen on draft night, and having an open mind is the perfect way to go. There are a lot of different teams Hunter could find himself playing with next season, and a lot of different situations he could be put into. For him, hopefully Thursday night will create an ideal situation.
Hunter will for sure be a first round selection, but he may have to wait a few hours into the night to hear his name called by NBA commissioner Adam Silver. The estimated time is in the air, but could be shorter than expected. If some “what if’s” actually happen, a big move could be made.
