Yesterday, XXL released its infamous Freshman List. While the annual list included fast rising stars like YBN Nahmir, Lil’ Pump, J.I.D, Wifisfuneral, Ski Mask The Slump God and Trippie Redd, the New York based publication got its usual share of criticism. As usual, fans felt that there were a number of seemingly obvious omissions to the list like Lil’ Baby, Rich The Kid, Lil’ Skies and of course, Tekashi 6ix9ine. There was also a glaring section of fans that felt that in the evolving climate of rap, there was not enough women on the list. One rapper who fit into both of those lanes of criticism from fans was Rico Nasty. However, the New York City native isn’t letting the XXL Freshman List selections slow her down. Having just graced the cover of The Fader and signed a deal with Atlantic Records, Rico Nasty is clearly looking to make money moves in 2018.
