Undefeated super lightweight contender Richardson Hitchins did not get the opportunity to fight former unbeaten contender Montana Love as previously expected. It’s unclear if the fight will be rescheduled, but the unbeaten fighter already has his sights set on another unbeaten fighter in the division — Teofimo Lopez. Recently, Hitchins hopped on Twitter and vowed to retire the lineal super lightweight champion “for good.”
“Teofimo [is] doing all that pink a** sh*t,” Hitchins tweeted.
“[He was] talking about retiring. Come fight me! I’ll straight smoke you, take [your] strap and send you [into] retirement for good, clown. Facts! Let’s make it happen.”
While Hitchins may have his sights set on Lopez, the lineal champion may be looking elsewhere. After ending his short-lived retirement, he called for a fight with undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney.
“Yo, Devin Haney,” Lopez tweeted earlier this month.
“Since you were so quick to jump in the mix for my WBO championship belt, let’s make the fight happen, so the world can see who is about that action. No, you will not be on the A-side. I hold the king title of the division as well, so don’t run away.”
Haney quickly responded with a simple tweet that reads, “Let’s do it.”
