Robert “Meek Mill” Williams is doing his part to spread cheer throughout the holidays. This month, the REFORM Alliance Co-Founder helped pay bail for 20 women incarcerated in the greater Philadelphia area. Upon their release, the REFORM Alliance presented each woman with a gift card to purchase groceries or gifts during the holidays.
“It was devastating for me to be away from my son during the holidays when I was incarcerated,” he said in a press release.
“So, I understand what these women and their families are going through. No one should have to spend the holidays in jail simply because they can’t afford bail. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help these women be with their families and loved ones during this special time of year.”
This is not the first time that Meek Mill and the REFORM Alliance have spread cheer during the holiday season. Recently, Meek Mill worked with Lala Anthony and Cordae to bring a group of kids to the Barclays Center for a Brooklyn Nets game. A short drive away, PUMA teamed up with the REFORM Alliance to provide a holiday experience for families negatively impacted by the criminal justice system. Meanwhile, Meek Mill and Michael Rubin brought hosted their annual “Eagle For A Day” event for youth negatively impacted by the criminal justice system in Philadelphia.
