
Washington Redskins wide receiver Terrelle Pryor says a Chiefs fan used the N-word which caused him to use vulgar language and gestures as he exited the field after Monday nights game.
The exchange near the entrance to the tunnel was caught on film. Although you can hear curses being thrown Pryor’s way you cant hear any racial slurs in the video TMZ.com posted.Pryor returned the insults while throwing up a middle finger, he then raised his helmet and started toward the fan. Once Redskins strength and conditioning coach grab him Terrelle continued into the locker room.
The league is reviewing the incident and taking into account what was happening in the stand to make Pryor react in such a way, a league spokesman said on Thursday.
Pryor said he was initially angered by the fans use of the N-word but started toward the fan once fans started pushing him “Do something Terrelle! Do something” can be heard by a fan in the video.
Pryor wrote on his Instagram Story that he was called this “several times to the point where an NFL employee had to step to me and stand by me the whole game from the second quarter on is the exact reason why guys are kneeling during the anthem.”
Pryor, who did, in fact, stand for the anthem wrote. “At some point, you keep calling us The N word .. we going to start acting up. #straightlikethat.” After apologizing to his team and organization.
