Washington Redskins injuries during the preseason and training camp are starting to take a toll on their offense this upcoming season.
DeSean Jackson and DeAngelo Hall recently were injured during training camp but weren’t expected to miss much time. Now they have been dealt a big blow to their offense with the loss of newly named starting tight end Niles Paul in Washington’s first preseason game.
Following from Chris Wesseling of NFL.com. Paul also expressed his feelings on his twitter account.
Just days after being named the team’s starter, Washington Redskins tight end Niles Paul is now done for the season.
Paul was carted off the field Thursday with a nasty ankle injury. Coach Jay Gruden announced after the game that the converted wide receiver has a season-ending ankle fracture dislocation.
“A huge loss for us,” Gruden said. “He’s a great player and a great leader.”
The team immediately put an air cast on his ankle before Paul left the field in the first quarter of the team’s 20-17 preseason-opening win against the Cleveland Browns.
Life can be cruel sometimes. Thank you for all your well wishes & prayers. They are very much appreciated

The Redskins also lost running back Silas Redd to a knee injury in Thursday’s game. Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said Redd has possible tears to his ACL and MCL.
Paul was given the starting job over Jordan Reed and Logan Paulsen. While Paul might be a better pass and run blocker, Reed is a fantastic receiving tight end, when he’s healthy.
For his career, Paul has recorded 53 receptions with 735 yards and 2 touchdowns.
