RECAP: Bucks Pull Away From Depleted Timberwolves 103-86
Top two draft picks Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins met for the first time on Wednesday night as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 103-86 in Minnesota. Brandon Knight and Larry Sanders each had 15 points for the Bucks. Corey Brewer led Minnesota with 19 points.
This was the first game in NBA history that four teenagers played, and they all happened to start and score in double figures – Parker, Wiggins, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Zach LaVine. Minnesota was without Ricky Rubio (ankle) Nikola Pekovic, and Kevin Martin (wrist), three of their starters and primary sources of offense.
The Timberwolves hung right with the Bucks until the fourth quarter where they only managed to score 16 points to Milwaukee’s 31. The Bucks had seven players score in double figures, including all five starters, and got 39 total points from their bench. They went 18-for-19 from the free throw line while Minnesota was 21/34 from the line, shot 38 percent from the field and 21 percent from three.
Milwaukee improves to 9-7 and Minnesota falls to 3-10 on the season.
