Top Dawg Entertainment is back and thriving. Throughout the year, the label has teased us with releases from Isaiah Rashad, SZA and ad-libs from Kendrick Lamar. Just this moth, the label returned in a major way thanks to Reason. After months of building anticipation, he dropped his latest project, New Beginnings. Leading up to the release, he released visuals for a number of tracks including “Flick It Up” with Ab-Soul, “Sauce” with Vince Staples and “Trapped In” with Boogie. Now, he’s returned with his latest visual effort for “Favorite N*gga.”
Preparing for Halloween, Reason’s newest visual is a bit scary. Throughout the three-minute video, we find the California native killing someone and disposing of the body. In the end, we find out that he kills himself. It gives a completely new meaning to New Beginnings. Do we kill our old selves to be reborn again?
