If you think you’ve accomplished a lot in your lifetime, you probably have. However, comparing your accomplishments to fifteen year old, Quvenzhane Wallis, may feel like you haven’t. In less than a decade, Wallis has manage to rack up a Golden Globe nomination for her work in Annie and an Academy Award nomination for her work in Beasts of the Southern Wild. In addition, Wallis has manage to publish four books before finishing the ninth grade. To top it all of, she’s signed to Roc Nation and made an appearance in Beyonce’s visual album, Lemonade. Wallis is simply black excellence personified.
Being that she is black excellence personified, it only makes sense that Wallis would join the cast of Black-ish. In the near future, Wallis will join the ABC comedy as recurring character. The Louisiana teenager is set to play the role of Kyra, Dre’s cousin who comes to live with the family when her mother cannot take care of her.
