“What’s one word you’d use to describe the next season of Abbott [Elementary], now that you guys started filming?” the reporter asked.
“Oh, my God! [It’s] a return to form. [It’s] a return to fun and excellence. I’m so excited,” Brunson answered.
Throughout the show’s run, Brunson and company have brought in a number of stars to fill roles, including Vince Staples, Zack Fox and even Gritty, the official mascot for the Philadelphia Flyers. However, there’s one Philadelphia sports legend that she’d like to bring on the show in the near future.
“Allen Iverson. I’ve never met him. I’d like to meet him. If I don’t meet him, it’s ok. This is still a wonderful night. Like, I love the ESPYs, but if I can’t meet Allen Iverson…I mean, it’d be pretty tight,” she said when asked who she’d like to meet most at the award show.
“I was going to say [that] I think you have a long line of people who want to be on Abbott [Elementary], so this is the place to recruit him,” the reporter chimed in.
“Yes! He’s been on Abbott in cardboard form, but I just want to meet him. I just love him,” she continued.
