Heir Wave Music Group, lead by Pusha T partners with other organizations to provide essential goods to local communities.
In partnership with former NBA star Ricky Davis and his The Ricky Davis Legacy Foundation and music industry legend Tony Draper, Grammy-nominated artist Pusha T brings light to his neighborhood. The ‘Feed Your City Challenge’ aims to provide fresh groceries and essential PPE equipment for up to 3,000 residents in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Working with Norfolk’s Mayor Kenny Alexander, Chief of Police Larry D. Boone, and the Economic Development Authority for the City of Norfolk, the charity event will take place on June 6, 2020, at the grounds of the centrally located Military Circle Mall. Goods will be handed out through contactless drive-thru lanes from 12 pm until supplies have been diminished.
Heir Wave Music Group was founded by Pusha-T to highlight and develop talent from the Virginia area. Rapper Kahri 1k currently stands as their first signed artist.
“The label was made in the spirit of an album artist—artists who have a story to tell. They have a background for the fan who wants to be fully invested in that particular artist, their whole movement, and everything about them. That’s how we’re picking artists. It’s about authenticity. It’s about pure music, whatever type of music it is. It must be pure,” says Pusha T in a provided statement.
