The beef is now deceased! After a back & forth that lasted a total of 3 songs the Pusha T and Drake beef is done, at least for now.
After Pusha T hit us with the first diss track ‘Infrared’ off his 7th studio Album ‘Daytona’, the rap world was thrown into a frenzy trying to figure out if Drake would respond. Aubrey did respond (in fact quite quickly) back to Pusha with his own set of bars on ‘Duppy Freestyle’. At this point, the whole social media world was rocking with memes and videos, as any of you could imagine. Fans of opposing sides waited patiently for Pusha T’s response and although it came a little bit after the shot clock, the effect was worth the wait in every way. He released ‘The Story of Adidon’, which included the shocking news that Drake was hiding a child with Porn Star Sophie Brussaux.
Now after some skepticism that Pusha T went a little too far and with J.Prince personally calling Drake to not release a response, things were getting weary to see if we could get a rap beef all summer. Now it has been confirmed that we most certainly will not be getting anymore diss tracks from either artist. Pusha T spoke to Vanity Fair about his recent album and the rap beef, squashing all our dreams:
And it seems like you’re going to put out these albums forever. And it seems like the beef is squashed. So is it all for nothing, or what do you think we’re supposed to learn from it?
I don’t even know. I don’t know what was lost or what was gained.
You talked about having a surgical summer with him, peeling the layers back. So it seems like you’ve got more stuff in the tank.
I mean, you know. These conversations have been had and, to my knowledge, it’s all over. It’s all over with.Do you feel good about that?
Yeah. I mean, listen: I’m ready to be back to the music for real. Just feeding my base, that’s it. That’s the most important thing to me at all times.
Well there you have it, the beef is over. Even despite the fact Pusha T still has fans chanting ‘F*ck Drake’ at concerts around the world. I guess we’ll just have to call this one in the history books. Despite J. Prince coming in as the grandfather trying to settle things between two nephews, it really was a mood killer. We were excited about the beef of the summer J. Prince, come on.
