Princess Tiana is headed to the Bayou and she’s bringing a few of her talented friends along with her. PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard will score the music used throughout Disneyland and Magic Kingdom’s forthcoming attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Their work will consist of an original song and renditions of fan-favorite music from the hit film, The Princess and the Frog.
PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard are both Grammy-Award-winning musicians who have worked alongside Spike Lee, Maroon 5 and Jon Batiste on a variety of films, albums and television shows. Together, they represent New Orleans’ rich musical history, which is deeply rooted in Jazz, Soul, R&B, Funk and Bounce. Both men bring their upbringing and musical talents to the place where dreams are made as they construct a gumbo of sounds that best represent Princess Tiana.
Disney has not only enlisted the help of PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard for their new attraction. The dream maker has also reached out to Stella Chase Reese, co-owner of Dooky Chase Restaurant in New Orleans, and Sharika Mahdi, visual artist and educator, to learn more about the region and its unique culture. Disney reportedly plans to bring all of these insights together and open the attraction in 2024.
