Many political insiders believe former Vice President Mike Pence will run for President next November. In a recent interview with NBC News, Pence said that he’ll make a final decision in the spring.
“We’re listening, we’re reflecting, we’re talking to firms,” the former Vice President told NBC News.
“By the spring, our family expects to have a very clear sense of our calling.”
Winter officially transitions into spring on March 20, 2023 and Pence is seemingly closing in on a decision. During a recent interview with FOX News, he appeared to hint at a potential campaign launch yet again.
“I do believe that different times call for different leadership,” Pence said about the future of the nation’s political landscape.
Thus far, former President Donald Trump and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley have positioned themselves as presidential candidates. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is also expected to launch his own campaign in the near future. Pence believes that bringing in a deep pool of candidates will be a benefit for voters and the Republican Party.
“The American people love competition,” Pence said.
“And it’s a free country. Everyone is entitled to vie for offices in this country of their choosing.”
Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel has also shared similar sentiments about the extensive pool of presidential candidates.
“It could be a big stage…I think it speaks about the deep bench we have. I mean, we have so many great governors, senators, congressional leaders, business leaders, a former president,” McDaniel said.
“We have such a great bench of candidates.”
