The Wizards were unable to grab a rebound that would have sealed a victory over the Atlanta Hawks in Game 5, and Paul Pierce is taking the blame for Al Horford being the one to grab the rebound. Horford did go over-the-back on the play as well as travel, but he still should have never gotten the rebound.

Pierce on final play last night: “I got to get in there and get my hands dirty and go up for the rebound. It is on all of us.”
Although it is not entirely Pierce’s fault, the veteran and leader throughout this postseason is the one stepping up and taking the blame for not doing something extra he could have done to help the team win. He knows grabbing this one rebound could have put Washington in the driver’s seat, and this missed opportunity could cost the Wizards a chance at the Eastern Conference Finals.
