Second year shooting guard Nik Stauskas will be out of basketball activities for the next two weeks with a right tibia stress reaction.
The former Michigan superstar was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers during the summer from the Sacramento Kings. In his rookie year, Stauskas struggled to live up to the expectations of being drafted in the lottery. Now with a new team, that happens to very low expectations in general, Stauskas may be able to improve and show why he was drafted so high in the first place.
The injury may be a minor setback to Stauskas’ development as it takes away two weeks of training camp and preseason action. However, he will likely be able to return in time for the regular season, when he is expected to get plenty of minutes in a thin Philadelphia back court. Hopefully the injury is indeed minor and Stauskas is able to come back healthy to continue his development.
