Actor Nicolas Cage is set to star in an exciting new film called Jiu Jitsu. The upcoming film is expected to blend martial arts and science fiction in a unique way. Cage is expected to be joined by Alain Moussi, who starred in The Kickboxer. Writer, Director and Producer Dimitri Logothetis has also signed on to lead things behind the camera. Highland Film Group and Hong Kong Filmart will handle everything else business related.
The premise of the film is based off of a comic book that Logothetis wrote alongside Jim McGrath. Moussi’s character is an elite Jiu Jitsu fighter that must fight an alien invader every six years by the name of Brax. In this particular edition, Moussi must team up with Cage to defeat the alien intruder.
Logothetis announced the movie by saying, “After we successfully reintroduced the Kickboxer franchise to a new generation of martial arts fans with the sixth and seventh entries in the series, we set out to up the ante with a sci-fi martial arts franchise that could bring the same kind of intensity and longevity to a new arena.”
There is no word on when the film will begin production or hit theaters.
