Less than two weeks stand between fans and Nicki Minaj’s forthcoming album, Pink Friday II. On Monday, November 27, the New York native further fanned the flames of fan’s anticipation with a series of posts on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“It just dawned on me. I am about to release one of the greatest albums of all time,” she wrote.
Pink Friday II, set to be released on Friday, December 8, serves as the follow-up to 2018’s Queen. The project shot to the second spot on the Billboard 200 chart, moving approximately 185,000 units during its first week. Since then, she’s toured with the late Juice WRLD, lent her voice to Columbia Pictures’ Angry Birds II and given birth to her first child. As it pertains to music, she’s topped the Billboard Hot 100 with “Super Freaky Girl,” collaborated with Coi Leray on “Blick Blick” and hopped on tracks with Fivio Foreign, Lil’ Baby, NBA Youngboy and several other prominent acts.
Five years removed from the release of her most recent project, the stage is set for Nicki Minaj’s return on December 8, 2023. To amp up anticipation, she also hinted at a surprise within the project’s release.
“Last night when all the world was sleeping, I was up…missing you…a painful amount of missing you…listening to the intro track on Pink Friday 2,” Nicki Minaj wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“On Dec. 8th, when the clock strikes 12, one of my best kept secrets [and] proudest moments will be unveiled.”
