A year after releasing his debut studio album, Return of the Cool, South Carolina native, Nick Grant, is returning to the scene with a new mixtape called Dreamin’ Out Loud. The Epic/Culture Republic artist took to Instagram to announce that his next project will be released in ten days. Nick Grant wrote to his fans, “Love to everyone that’s been down since the journey started! It’s been a blessing to be able to put out projects. Been dreaming of this since I started writing rhymes and hanging up hip-hop greats on my bedroom wall. I’m growing to learn that money is cool but having a voice that could help preserve the culture is better. I just want to compete and contribute. God willing, the words on this mixtape inspire the people that listen. Thank you & God Bless! “Dreamin’ Out Loud” May 18th.”

Last month, Grant released the first single off of Dreamin’ Out Loud, “The Switch Up” featuring Yo Gotti. The track showcases Grant and Gotti transitioning from their old lives into their newfound fame. Sometimes you have to leave some people behind. Grant raps, “New phone, who dis/New life, who dis/Switched up, yeah/Text from my ex like who dis/And I got the same number, who dis.” Gotti echoes Grant’s vibe rapping, “New b*tch, hello
Street sh*t, yola/Boost mobile nextel chirp/Trap phone, work/Wanna save the h*, go to church n*gga/She hurt your feelings, take a perk n*gga.” Grant and Gotti followed up the record’s release with the official video on April 17th.
