The NBA and LegalZoom have partnered to form The Fast Break for Small Businesses Initiative which will award $6 million in grants and provide LegalZoom services to help support thousands of small business owners across the country. LegalZoom is an online platform for legal services and this partnership with the NBA has big plans to shake up the way things are done with access to funds for small businesses.

The two plan to remove barriers for minorities, women, immigrants, and members of the LGBTQ community face when trying to start and continue small businesses. After the announcement, several NBA players took to social media to praise the new initiative set by the NBA and LegalZoom. The NBA continues to attempt to start different programs in an attempt at going beyond basketball and performing outreach to the community.

Former NBA player Grant Hill was named the ambassador to The Fast Break for Small Business Initiative and believes strongly in the program. This plan with the NBA and LegalZoom can impact a lot of communities with both money and legal services. The NBA has done a great job at reaching out to different communities and this likely will not be their final step in doing that. We here at Def Pen Sports will continue to cover stories like this when the NBA reaches out to the community.
