If you were confused as to what that NYC and Tri-State area sound was, Haze Mahdi should provide you with some clarity.
The essence of Hip Hop & Rap has always been about self-expression. But when you circle the East Coast and more specifically NYC, it has often been decided a certain sound needs to resonate with this region when you think of Hip Hop. Gritty, bars and pretty much the vibe lyrical purist standby.
That’s cool. Born in NYC but raised in New Jersey, Haze Mahdi looks to earn his stripes amongst the up and comers and of course the heavy hitters making noise in the tri-state. Looking to provide substance throughout his music, we are provided an official music video for “What It Look Like”.
‘What It Look Like’ is his first offering that follows up his 2016 release ‘Mos Hyy’. That project housed such records like ‘Momentum’ feat. Dave East and ‘Way It n Bag It’, just to name a few.
Showcasing the dark and gritty aspect that the east coast is associated with, Haze Mahdi brings to life his latest release with Bryan Nunez responsible for the camera work. ‘What It Look Like’ is produced by V Don who is responsible for work created by the likes of Bodega Bamz, Vado, Smoke DZA and more.
Check out the official music video below and also did I mention, Haze Mahdi is the son of Frank Lucas? Little known fact, trust me I know. I am paying attention now and will be looking forward to more of what Haze has to offer.
