After getting Oklahoma State to their first NCAA tournament since 2017, head coach Mike Boynton agrees to a seven-year extension. This will ideally keep him in Stillwater until 2028. Boynton and the Cowboys ended the season in the second round of the tournament after losing to Oregon State. For Cowboys fans, this season was the most exciting since the Travis Ford era. Travis Ford never brought in a Cade Cunningham either, so make of that what you will. After just one season Boynton lands a long-term and deserved extension.

Coach Boynton brought a lot to OK State in his first year in charge. The Cowboys finished the season before the tournament ranked 11th and Cunningham gave the Cowboys their first AP First Team All-American.
The Cowboys basketball program came into its own, famously, under Coach Eddie Sutton from 1990-2006. Since then there have been three other head coaches between Sutton and Boynton. The Cowboys finished the year with over 20 wins and a number of exciting moments along the way.
The first recruiting class under Coach Boynton was ranked 2nd in the Big-12 only behind Texas Tech last year. As of right now, the Cowboys do not have any signees in the class of 2021. The transfer market could be somewhere they look to, but they should be focused on retaining a majority of their roster and developing the talent.
Coach Boynton received congrats from former players on his extension.
