The NBA has made efforts to expand its outreach into the markets in the United Kingdom, Mexico and China in recent years, with the NBA’s recent controversy involving the Hong Kong protests serving as a momentary setback in that market.
With the addition of the Mexico Capitanes, the G-League will feature 29 teams next season, leading to continued speculation regarding future international teams joining the 30 franchises that currently comprise the NBA.
