Meek Mill can now add actor to his growing list of accolades. Today, the Philadelphia star graced the screen as a central figure in the HBO Max film Charm City Kings. The MMG star plays the role of Blax, a mentor looking to help the main character, Mouse, survive the streets of Baltimore as a member of the Midnight Clique.
“In this gritty coming-of-age drama, fourteen-year-old Mouse desperately wants to join the Midnight Clique, an infamous group of Baltimore dirt-bike riders who rule the summertime streets. His older brother, Stro, was their top rider before his tragic death—a loss that consumes Mouse as much as his passion for bikes,” HBO Max writes.
“Mouse’s mom and his police mentor, Detective Rivers, work overtime to help the charismatic teen reach his full potential, but when the Midnight Clique’s leader, Blax, takes the boy under his wing, the lure of revving his own dirt bike skids Mouse toward a road way past the straight and narrow.”
Throughout the film, Meek Mill is joined by the likes of Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Teyonah Parris, Kezii Curtis and William Catlett. The film is also produced by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Charm City Kings debuts on the streaming platform on October 8, 2020.
