Selma, the biopic based on the life of Martin Luther King Jr. has been given a release date.
The Ava DuVernay-directed project will open in a limited number of US theaters on December 25, before a full release on January 9, 2015.
Starring David Oyelowo as King, Selma also stars Oprah Winfrey as Annie Lee Cooper, a civil rights protester who tried to register to vote but was denied.
Cuba Gooding Jr., will star as King’s attorney and fellow activist Fred Gray, and Tim Roth will play Alabama governor and racial segregation supporter George Wallace.
