While the Mavericks will be ushering in a new future with Luke Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, they may be saying goodbye to the past. According to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, this season is likely to be the last for future Hall of Fame forward Dirk Nowitzki.

Cuban suggest that Nowitzki could transition into a role with the team, but that obviously has not been confirmed or even speculated about until now. But Dirk can do “whatever he wants” according to Cuban.
“We haven’t discussed it”, Cuban said on the radio show. “He’s trying to decide if he’s going to take some time off or not,” Cuban said. “But he can do whatever he wants. He’s earned it. I don’t care. Whatever he wants to do, Dirk can do … the answer’s yes.”
Dirk Nowitzki and Dwyane Wade were each selected to this year’s All-Star game as part of a special selection. Wade has said this season will be his last.
