Manu Ginobili officially re-signs with the San Antonio Spurs and creates a Spurs roster that makes people in Golden State and Cleveland have nightmares. There was no doubt that after Aldridge being signed and Duncan returning, Ginobili would be following along. There were questions as to if Duncan and Ginobili would return if Aldridge didn’t come to San Antonio, but no one will know that now. According to the Spurs Press Release:
The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have re-signed guard Manu Ginobili. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not announced.
The upcoming season will mark Ginobili’s 14th campaign with the Silver and Black. Over the course of his NBA career, he has appeared in 865 games, averaging 14.3 points, 4.0 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.39 steals in 26.7 minutes. He has shot .450 (4,015-8,925) percent from the field, .368 (1,272-3,457) from three-point range and .827 (3,093-3,739) from the charity stripe.
With Ginobili back, their bench makes them even more scary. As stands, the Spurs rotation looks like this:
PG: Tony Parker, Patty Mills, Ray McCallum
SG: Danny Green, Manu Ginobili
SF: Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Anderson, Reggie Williams
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge, David West, Boris Diaw
C: Tim Duncan, Matt Bonner, Jeff Ayres
The Rotation looks good, but it could use some more pieces, especially at the Center position where they lost Aron Baynes and Tiago Splitter. Despite all that, the Spurs are undoubtedly one of the favorites to win the titles. If you were to ask me? Early favorites are the Spurs, Cavaliers, Warriors, Rockets, Clippers, and Heat. In terms of rosters and Playoff experience, those teams are on a different level.
