Eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao may attempt to return to the ring. In a recent conversation with Fight Hype, the former Filipino Senator indicated that he’d come out of retirement to fight either Errol Spence Jr. or Terence Crawford.
“I’m eager to fight them to test them…I’m still here. Even though I [have been] retired for more than a year I work out almost every day,” Pacquiao said, per Fight Hype.
Manny Pacquiao last fought in August 2021. The boxing veteran lost his WBA “Super” Welterweight Championship to Yordenis Ugas in a 12-round bout. After the bout, he ran for President in his home nation — the Philippines. Pacquiao came up short in his political endeavors and would like to re-enter the ring.
In addition to a potential bout with either Crawford or Spence Jr., Pacquiao has pondered the thought of fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. once more. However, he believes that the fight would never happen because he is under the impression that the Michigan native is “scare to death” of him.
“I don’t think he will do a rematch with me, Floyd. I don’t think so,” he said.
“I think he’s scared to death to fight again and that’s my analysis and thoughts about a rematch with him. I can beat him easily.”
Before Pacquiao can look ahead to a professional comeback, he is scheduled to compete in an exhibition bout against mixed martial artist DK Yoo in South Korea on December 10.
