Lupita Nyong’o has reportedly secured a role in the upcoming A Quiet Place spinoff tentatively titled Day One. Details regarding her exact role and the film’s plot remain under wraps for the time being. However, the film is still on pace for a 2024 release with Nyong’o leading the way.
A Quiet Place is a growing film franchise helmed by former The Office star John Krasinski. The first two films are set in an apocalyptic world where blind monsters hunt their human prey using enhanced hearing abilities. Within this destructive world, Krasinski stars alongside Emily Blunt as Lee and Evelyn Abbott. The married couple attempt to guide their children, Marcus and Regan, through this violent world.
The first film under the A Quiet Place banner turned a profit of approximately $93 million. Released in 2021, the sequel brought in approximately $297 million and paved the way for the third chapter in 2025 along with the aforementioned spinoff in 2024.
As for Nyong’o, she will step into Krasinski’s universe after appearing in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever next week.
