There’s been a large amount of friction within rap over the past few weeks. On the bright side, it seems like a few things are starting to clear up. Tekashi 6ix9ine has confirmed that there is no beef between himself and Fetty Wap. Pusha T, Kanye West and Drake have seemingly reached an understanding. Today, one of the longest running standoffs has also come to an end. It was announced earlier today that Lil’ Wayne and Birdman have come to an eight figure settlement in their long running feud pertaining to overdue payments.
According to reports from The Blast, court documents show that Lil’ Wayne is now owed upwards of $10 million from Universal. In addition, Lil’ Wayne’s contract with Universal will be terminated. As a result, the legendary rap icon will be able to release his much talked about Carter V project. Wayne will also have the option to move on to any other label or imprint of his choosing.
Neither Birdman or Lil’ Wayne has spoken on the matter. Reports from earlier this year indicate that the two were seen socializing together, but they’re relationship is not in a positive place. Going forward, we’ll keep you up to date as more details about the settlement and the current state of Wayne and Birdman’s relationship become available.
