Fans may not have had the opportunity to see The Fugees on tour last year, but they may have a shot at seeing Lauryn Hill in the near future. During a recent performance at ONE Musicfest in Atlanta, the New Jersey native hinted at another performance of her debut solo album to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
“25 years, y’all,” she said while on stage, per VIBE.
“So we gonna be back with those songs the way you can recognize them, aye?”
Lauryn Hill is often ridiculed for being to late to shows and missing out on live performances, but she has been more active lately. Earlier this year, she stepped out in the Las Vegas, Nevada heat to perform at the Lovers & Friends festival. She was also on the bill at Preakness Live in Baltimore, Maryland. She also appeared on the Grammy-winning album, King’s Disease, with Nas just two years ago. Not to be forgotten, her debut solo album still holds a special place in the hearts of music lovers of all ages.
“Honestly, Lauryn Hill is good in my book. She can do whatever she wants for the rest of her life. She dropped The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and said everything that needed to be said in 16 songs,” singer Aliah Sheffield tweeted.
“Lauryn Hill is one of the most highly noted, documented and respected artists in the industry today. She broke many records, and in her right, a legend,” another fan tweeted.
The New Jersey native surely has nothing to prove, but an anniversary performance of her debut album would definitely be welcomed with open arms.
