One member of last years travesty that was known as the New York Knicks will actually be returning to the team. Lance Thomas was acquired by the Knicks in the three-team trade that saw J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert go to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thomas was sent from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the deal along with other pieces. He will re-sign with the New York Knicks on a one-year deal worth $1.6 million.

He’s the first member of last years horrible team to re-sign. The Knicks let Quincy Acy become a free agent, Shane Larkin signed with the Brooklyn Nets and Jason Smith went to the Orlando Magic.
Thomas will be regulated to a probable deep bench role on the Knicks especially with the team signing Derrick Williams and Arron Afflalo to be main wing rotation players along with their star, Carmelo Anthony. The team can also bring up their young project wingman, Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
Last season with the Knicks, Thomas averaged 8.2 points per game, grabbed 3 rebounds per game, playing 26 minutes per game in 40 appearances.
