The 95th Academy Awards are set to kick off at the Dolby Theater at 8 p.m. EST. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present the biggest stars with “Best Picture,” “Best Actress” and many other prestigious awards throughout the evening. Adding to the evening’s festivities, Rihanna, Tems, Diane Warren will perform selections from the “Best Original Song” category. Unfortunately, one of the songs from the “Best Original “Song” category will not be featured during the telecast.
Lady Gaga and BloodPop will not be able to perform “Hold My Hand” from the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack at the 95th Academy Awards because Lady Gaga is currently shooting a movie.
“I would love to say, ‘No I can’t confirm,’ but you know what? I’m gonna tell ya,” Oscars executive producer Glenn Weiss said.
“So here’s where we are: We actually invited all five nominees — we have great relationships with Lady Gaga and her camp — [but] she is in the middle of shooting a movie right now, and here we are honoring the movie industry and what it takes to make a movie.”
“Hold My Hand” will compete to take home the “Best Original Song” award. Top Gun: Maverick is also nominated in the “Best Picture” category.
