Bill “Kodak Black” Kapri has pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and battery in a recent legal battle. In exchange for his guilty plea, the Florida artist will receive a 10-year suspended sentence and spend 18 months on probation.
Kodak Black’s most recent guilty plea stems from a 2016 incident in which he was accused of assaulting a high school student in South Carolina. After the incident, he was formally charged with first-degree sexual assault in 2017.
“I apologize to Miss [victim’s name] and am hopeful we can all move forward,” the best-selling artist said before the court.
“I wish her the best in her life.”
The Florida native’s most recent plea agreement wraps up his litany of legal issues. Two years after being charged with sexual assault, he was met with firearms charges. These charges landed him in jail for three years, but he was granted a pardon by former President Donald Trump in the final hours of his presidency. To date, he has no serious legal charges pending now that this case has been sorted out.
