The New York Knicks are continuing to get some potential talent in a desperate chase to make their team relevant again. They have signed some decent mid-level talent such as Arron Afflalo and Robin Lopez, but they’ve also ditched some such as Shane Larkin.
Their next move is to get some frontcourt help, because God knows that they need frontcourt help. Which is why they have performed a Sign-And-Trade with the Orlando Magic. With the Knicks getting Kyle O’Quinn and the Magic simply getting some cash considerations.
The Magic will receive cash considerations and the right to swap second-round draft picks with the Knicks in 2019, sources said.
O’Quinn, 25, is an aggressive, physical frontcourt player. He averaged 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 51 games with the Magic last season.
A New York native, O’Quinn was a second-round draft pick of the Magic in 2012.
You know what’s funny? O’Quinn is a New York native, and so is Tobias Harris, a person they should’ve gone for (and maybe could’ve).
Harris, O’Quinn. Mmm I’m going to have to give the edge to Harris in this case. And the fact that he didn’t play the whole season and only 51 games is worrying. But he is a big body that could do something positive for the Knicks, as long as he can be utilised the right way.
