The New York Knicks have given themselves more work to do with the firing of Derek Fisher. Not only do they have to figure out how to fill in the many holes in their team, they have to find a new head coach that is ‘Triangle Offense’ savvy. We all know how slim those pickings are.
Before Fisher’s firing, there was word that the Knicks were in the running for Kevin Durant this offseason but now that Fisher is gone, consider that possibility pretty much gone.
New York faces long odds to land Durant to begin with. And their chances took a hit after Derek Fisher was fired, league sources say.
Now I think if Fisher was there or not there’s no chance that Durant would’ve been in Knicks colours next season.
On top of that. What about the Phil Jackson thing? You know, we don’t exactly know how dedicated Phil is to this Knicks thing. He could still be in the Lakers organisation in a click of a finger. With that possibility being in the wind ever since Jackson took this job, why would people even take Jackson’s word. Imagine if KD went to New York and then Jackson bolted. KD would feel a little betrayed.
And besides, I still think Durant and Melo’s games down mesh.
