Kevin Love is an NBA champion. That’s a solid fact. What is unclear to some is their opinion on Love and his role with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The forward has been up and down during his tenure with the Cavs as a leading option or sometimes having to take a backseat to Kyrie Irving and LeBron James.
Anyway you shake it, Love has a role on the Cavs and that’s for the team to properly determine and execute. He’s still a fantastic rebounder, good shooter from distance and of course, he had the most important stop in the NBA Finals in the final seconds against the Golden State Warriors.
Now as the Cavs begin their path towards repeating as NBA Champions, once again the questions arise. What is Kevin Love’s role on this Championship team? Well, don’t even formulate a thought because Kevin Love doesn’t care what people think about his role with the squad.
Kevin Love on people speculating about his fit or lack thereof w/ CLE: "I don't think it will ever leave but frankly, I don't give a s—."

It’s long overdue for Kevin Love to speak out in such a demonstrative way on this issue, or non-issue. It’s an angle some in the media have long used to create a problem with the Cavs. There isn’t a true role for Kevin Love on the Cavs, but that’s a good thing. To have a perennial All-Star not have a defined role and just play his game within the offense is good. When they need him to step up, he can and he is sometimes a legit difference maker for the team.
Kevin Love doesn’t care and eventually, everyone else won’t care either. Whether he’s third in the pecking order behind Kyrie Irving and LeBron James, a pick and roll option for Irving or just a guy to spot-up and shoot, get rebounds and toss sick outlet passes, he’s still going to do whatever it takes for the team. He’s a good player, let him play his game with the champs.
