Things haven’t been going so well for Kevin Hart lately. To start the year, Kevin Hart faced backlash after fans unearthed old homophobic tweets of his. As a result, he was pushed to step down from his role as host of the 2019 Academy Awards. In spite of the backlash, Hart has been able to move forward somewhat with the release of a Netflix comedy special and his movie with Bryan Cranston, The Upside. Unfortunately, the comedian will likely take one step back after making progress since his Academy Awards debacle.
Philadelphia native, Kevin Hart, has been hit with a new lawsuit. A woman named Carmen Marrero claims Kevin Hart’s security assaulted her during an encounter in January of this year. The alleged encounter took place in New York City when Hart and his team were leaving a screening of The Upside. According to the lawsuit, Marrero was walking down the street when Hart and his team came out of the screening. Hart’s security allegedly began pushing people out of the way as they made their way down the street. In doing so, they allegedly pushed Marrero to the ground and fractured her face.
Marrero is suing Hart, his production company and SAG-AFTRA for an undisclosed amount. Hart nor his legal representation have commented on the matter publicly.
