The Golden State Warriors came into the season with a new look. After a disappointing end to their season which saw them blow a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals, the Warriors enlisted Kevin Durant en route to continuing their dominance over most of the NBA.
So far, that move has paid off as the Warriors advanced to the NBA Finals for the third straight year, this time going undefeated in the first three rounds of the playoffs. It’s only the second Finals appearance for Durant but it’s likely not the last as the forward seems genuinely pleased with his controversial decision.
Nevertheless, Durant knows business is not over and echoed the same sentiment as the rest of the Warriors: the Western Conference Finals win is great, but there’s still unfinished business.
Durant, via Marc Spears of the Undefeated:
“You’ve got to enjoy everything,” Durant said. “When we look at it, it’s just a blip on the radar in terms of our whole life. So every moment is definitely important, and you want to embrace it and enjoy it. But a lot of guys are more seasoned now and know what it takes to get here, know what it takes to try to finish this thing off. So we’re excited, but we’re not satisfied.”
Warriors-Cavs Part III is a week away and we have plenty of time to get excited.
