If you haven’t heard already, Kevin Durant will miss 6-8 weeks of the regular season with a Jones Fracture in his right foot. So, we just have to wait until he’s done surgery and we’ll have the MVP back, right? Wrong. Kevin Durant is still considering other more traditional ways of healing the fracture. The easiest and most plausible solution to the fractured foot would be surgery.
According to Dr. Mark Adickes at ESPN who said:
A recent study found that Jones fracture treated without surgery had just a 76 percent chance of complete recovery, while those treated with surgery found a 95 percent return to full health.
Come on KD… you heard the doctor, get it done. Even though it is clearly better to do a surgery, Durant is still unsure. I mean he does have a point, he is only 26 years old and the idea of having a surgery doesn’t seem to pleasant. I mean what if their is complications? It could always happen.
Sam Amick from USA Today said:
Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant is still considering treatment options for the jones fracture… and a decision about whether or not to go to surgery won’t likely be made on Monday.
Scary, scary news for Oklahoma City Thunder fans. Scary to see someone like the MVP of the league have to go through something like this. But it is all too common, over the past couple years stars getting injured has been getting freakishly too normal (Derrick Rose, Paul George). Hopefully, Kevin Durant can pick the RIGHT decision for him and get back to winning games and doing his MVP duties soon. As for now, we all just got to wait for his comeback.
