Kamala Harris has been sworn-in as the Vice President of the United States. Stepping into this role, Harris will become the first Black woman to serve in the role. She is also the first South Asian-American or HBCU graduate to serve as the Vice President.
During today’s festivities, Harris was joined by her husband, Doug Emhoff, and her extended family. Emhoff will also make history today by becoming the first second gentleman in American history. Adding on, Harris was not the only one in her family to trend on Twitter.

Shortly after Harris was sworn in, the name, Nikolas Ajagu, began to trend. Ajagu is married to Harris’s niece, Meena. While Sen. Amy Klobuchar was speaking, Ajagu was spotted running down the Capitol steps wearing a pair of Air Jordan 1s Retro High Dior sneakers. The extremely rare sneakers can cost up to $19,000 on certain apps.
Harris will continue to celebrate this historic day as she participates in the virtual parade and Inaugural Ball.
