Joshua Franco put an end to his rivalry with Andrew Moloney on Saturday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Consistently beating Moloney to the punch, Franco seemingly cruised to a unanimous decision in an entertaining fight.
Notching the eighteenth win of his career, Franco was excited to call out other fighters in the division. The Texas-born champion hopes to break through the “Big Four” at the 115-pound division and insert himself in boxing’s mythical pound-for-pound championship hunt.
“I see bigger fights. I see Chocolatito, Gallo, Estrada, Ioka,” he said after the fight.
“For sure, this win puts me top 5, on the same list at the other champions. I needed this fight to prove myself.”
Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez is currently slated to fight Juan Francisco Estrada on October 16. Meanwhile, Kazuto Ioka is expected to fight Francisco Rodriguez Jr. on September 1 in Japan. At this time, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai is the only fighter among the “Big Four” without a fight scheduled for the fall.
