The class of 2021’s top player Jonathan Kuminga, announced his top 5 choices today. He listed Texas Tech, Auburn, Kentucky, Duke, and the G-League. Kuminga is one of the top-ranked players in the class of 2021 and has over 25 Division 1 offers. He is a 6-8 wing from the DRC, currently playing for St Patrick High School in New Jersey. Kuminga is “50-50” on if he will reclassify to the class of 2020, which would be a huge gamechanger for any of the teams or if he chooses the G-League. However, considering the great amount of uncertainty with college basketball this coming season, Kuminga may be leaning towards guaranteed money rather than playing a shortened college season if he reclassifies.

Jonathan Kuminga’s Game:
Jonathan Kuminga is a 6-8 wing, who has long arms, with great length, athleticism, and is very versatile as a player. He can guard multiple positions and is a great shot blocker. Rebounding is also another area where Kuminga excels in, ripping down boards with ease. Kuminga has the tools to be a premier wing and is only 17 years old. He can get in the lane and score, but his shot is the one place he needs some work on. He impressed at the 2019 John Wall Holiday Invitational and has played well against other top players. Otherwise, Kuminga is one of the best all-around prospects in the class of 2021 and should be a top pick come 2022.
