President Joe Biden has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, the President will not move forward with his speaking engagement at the annual UnidosUS Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday, July 17.
“Earlier today following his first event in Las Vegas, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19,” a statement from White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre reads.
“He is vaccinated and boosted and he is experiencing mild symptoms. He will be returning to Delaware where he will self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time. The White House will provide regular updates on the President’s status as he continues to carry out the full duties of the office while in isolation.”
While the President isolates himself at his home in Delaware, BET Media Group is scheduled to air a one-on-one interview with Joe Biden later this evening. Journalist Ed Gordon and the President will discuss “the growing concern over President Biden’s fitness for office, the state of the economy for Black families, the Project 2025 conservative policy agenda, and the fight to engage Black voters.” The interview is scheduled to air at 10 p.m. EST on BET.
