The 2024 presidential election is less than two years away. Thus far, former President Donald Trump has formally indicated that he will run for the nation’s highest political office. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is also expected to launch his campaign in the next few months. However, no major Democratic figures have formally announced their intent to run for President. When asked if he would run for office again in 2024, President Joe Biden has not formally announced his intention to seek re-election.
“We’re not having any. We’re celebrating,” Biden said on Saturday when asked if he was having any discussions about the 2024 presidential election.
Previously, Biden has insinuated that he’d like to run for office once more, but indicated that it would be a “family decision.”
“But at any rate, all kidding aside, our — our intention is to run again. That’s been our intention, regardless of what the outcome of this election was,” he said hours after Election Day.
“And so, my judgment of running, when I announce — if I annou- — now, my intention is that I run again. But I’m a great respecter of fate. And this is, ultimately, a family decision.”
Ultimately, Biden said that he would discuss the matter with his family this winter and make a final decision in early 2023.
“Well, I — my guess is — I hope Jill and I get a little time to actually sneak away for a week around — between Christmas and Thanksgiving,” Biden explained.
“And my guess is it would be early next year we make that judgment.”
